Frozen Lake
Whimsical Lake
I took this set of pictures at The Polo Fields Golf and Country Club. I liked how there is a frozen lake surrounded by grass with almost no snow and lots of sunlight. I like this picture because it shows the Michigan weather and how it can go from freezing to sunny in a matter of days. I liked that the filter makes it look like an oil painting, especially using the water paper finish.
Winter Tree
Winter leaves
I took this set of pictures at Hudson Mills Metropark. I decided to take a picture of a tree from the ground looking up towards the sky because I liked the contrast of the leaves with the blue of the sky and the effect it gives. I like the effect with the filter because I think it makes the picture brighter and gives you a feeling of warmth.
Stream
Mysterious Stream
I took this set of pictures at the Saginaw Trail Forest. I looked at the stream and the dried grass and liked the contrast between the light on the grass and the darkness in the water. I liked how it seems like the grass is surrounding the stream and you can't see where it is going. With the filter I think it makes it even more mysterious.
Hydrangeas
Cotton Candy
In these set of pictures I like the contrast of colors between the flowers, the leaves and the ground and all the light in them. I like how the filter gives the picture and Impressionist look and reminds me of Monet's paintings. I had to try different setting between the brush size and sharpness to achieve this look but I think the end result looks good.
Tulips
Green foliage
Although it could seem like the main focus of this picture is the flowers, in reality what I liked was the leaves and how they merge with one another making a beautiful composition. I wasn't sure all the green would look good in the picture but after I took it I liked the effect. With the filter I tried to highlight the lines which was the main point of interest I wanted to show. I used the Water Paper at the end and I liked how it makes it rougher.
